Sales Associate-Art Gallery

Well-established art gallery in the heart of City Market searching for “the right” employee to join our team. The job title is “part-time sales associate,” but each of us wears many hats as we are a privately owned art gallery with only a few employees. We are very inclusive and open-minded, working together to grow and improve the gallery year by year.

The ideal candidate would be responsible, organized, energetic, outgoing, friendly, and have a strong work ethic. Reliable transportation and punctuality is essential.

Past sales experience is not necessarily required, but common sense and the ability to take initiative is.

Proficiency with basic electronics (smartphone / tablet) and some general knowledge of computer and office equipment is needed.

Comprehension of basic math skills (ie., simple fractions, counting and handling money), the ability to organize items in alphabetical order and address an envelope are absolutely required.

Attitude, customer engagement and positive energy really are the most important factors when it comes to this position.

Physical requirements include the ability to stand and /or move for several hours at a time, lift more than 30 pounds, kneel, climb a ladder and stretch your arms above your head.

We are open every day from 10am-10pm, both weekdays and weekends. We have two 6-hour shifts per day; one opening shift, one closing shift. Flexibility with scheduling is mandatory. (Note: you will not be required to work every weekend, but if you’re looking for a 9-5 weekday job this is not that). The available shifts will be mostly evenings and weekends at this time. There will occasionally be day shifts, but most shifts will be from 4-10pm.

This position would be absolutely perfect for a stay-at-home mom or recent empty-nester looking for a fun and engaging part-time job.
