- A minimum of seven years of experience in a monitoring role is preferred with 2 years in AWS & Automation Work.
- Proven skillset in a monitoring toolset (examples: AWS CloudWatch, Dynatrace, Netcool, Sumo Logic, CA Spectrum/UIM) and the ability to adapt that knowledge to new tools.
- Strong knowledge of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) and its architecture.
- Experience with configuring and setting up CloudWatch alarms and metrics for process monitoring, log monitoring, pattern matching.
- Experienced in writing Lambda Functions using Python programming language.
- Troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Excellent Client management skills & ability to work independently without the need for directions.
- Working knowledge of AWS technologies including solid understanding of CloudWatch, EC2, S3, IAM, AWS Systems Manager, Event Bridge, AWS Cloud Formation Templates(CFT) and Lambda services.
- Understanding of security best practices in Cloud.
- Knowledge of AWS command-line interface (CLI) or SDKs for programmatic access to EC2 process data
- Ability to script in the following programming languages: Python, PowerShell, Bash, and data serialization languages such as JSON and YAML.
- Ability to create and utilize AWS Cloud Formation templates to automate creation of AWS resources.
- Experience with cloud-based software development tools and methodologies (Git, CI/CD, Code Deploy, Code Pipeline, etc.) is a plus.
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux/Amazon Linux and/or Windows administration skills preferred.
- Ability to review metrics, monitoring and logs including identification of key correlations.
- Solid understanding on AWS Cost structures, cost optimization techniques.
- Good working knowledge on integrating AWS telemetry with external tools like Moogsoft, Service Now.
