Senior Business Analyst – Compliance

LOCAL ATLANTA CANDIDATE OR WHO CAN RELOCATE TO ATLANTA, GA

ProfileResponsible for the business analysis activities of research, requirements gathering, analysis and functional specifications writing.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain business requirements and generate functional specifications with use cases
  • Serve as subject matter expert for overall application functionality
  • Research and identify opportunities and gaps related to software functionality
  • Consult with developers and testers to ensure functional requirements are accurately implemented
  • Facilitate internal training sessions for large and/or complex features
  • Interact with other departments, prospects and customers to gather and validate product requirements
  • Assist Sales and Marketing departments with application functionality information and material review
  • Contribute to impact analysis of proposed software changes
  • Investigate and resolve issues from tier II support
  • Identify and promote process improvements
  • May act as the team lead as necessary
  • Mentor peers with less experience
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science/Information Systems preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years Business Analyst experience with Client OR 8 years’ experience as Business Analyst external to Client
  • Other Undergraduate degree with minimum 9 years Business Analyst experience
  • No degree – business analysis professional with minimum of 10 years’ experience
  • Extensive experience obtaining software requirements and authoring software functional specifications
  • Working knowledge of relational database concepts
  • Experience with financial applications preferred.
  • Familiarity balancing, producing and filing W2s and 1095 and 1099 preferred
  • Familiarity producing tax payments for a processor or a large multi-state employer preferred
  • Familiarity balancing payroll amounts for state and local tax payments and filings preferred
  • Familiarity negotiating with authorities on notices and penalties and abating same preferred
  • Familiarity preparing amendments preferred
  • Excellent customer service oriented written and oral communications skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
