Job Description

OVERVIEW

CoStar Real Estate Manager is currently seeking a Database Engineer to join our Data Engineering team. As a Database Engineer you will play a pivotal role in designing and buildingdata pipelines and services to host reporting and analytics features as well as data interfaces (APIs). You will be part of an Agile/Scrum team of Architects and other Data Engineers. This role is an integral part of the product development lifecycle, and thus you will play a critical and highly visible role in shaping the data platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Building data pipelines with a variety of AWS data services.
  • Migrate on-premises workloads to AWS.
  • Design and develop data services and APIs by selecting the relevant cloud services to achieve desired goals.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and other stakeholders to efficiently translate the requirements into efficient code and services.
  • Champion principles of Data Security and Governance so that data is secured and relevant is made available only to the approved entities.
  • Mentor and guide other team members and stakeholders in Data Engineering and Security best practices.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 3+ years as a Data Engineer or Architect.
  • Experience with AWS technologies (S3, RDS, Athena, Redshift).
  • Experience with AWS data processing technologies such as DMS, Glue, SQS, SNS, and Lambda.
  • Proficiency with Python (Pandas, PySpark).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server and Postgres
  • Proficiency with SQL queries and optimization
  • Proficiency with software development best practices, including standards, code reviews, source control, builds, testing and operations

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with S3 Data Lakes utilizing AWS Lake Formation is a plus.
  • Experience building scalable microservice API systems is highly desired.
  • Experience with one or more of the following, Apache Spark, Airflow, or Apache Kafka.
  • Basic understanding of Terraform.
  • Experience in SQL Server environments including SSIS and SSRS.
