As part of the DevOps team, a Site Reliability Engineer focuses on the health of our production system. You will be proactive in developing tools to monitor the system at all levels, anticipate issues, and implement solutions before they impact users. When production issues - outages, slowness, processing delays, errors, and failures - do occur, you will take ownership to solve or escalate to SMEs for quick resolution.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Identify components of the application susceptible to performance, stability, and scalability issues.
  • Develop metrics, monitoring, and alerting to observe the health of the production system.
  • Develop or implement visual tools for technical and business teams to observe system health.
  • Be proactive in anticipating production issues - outages, slowness, processing delays, errors, and failures - and take corrective action to prevent them.
  • Act on system incidents during business and non-business hours.
  • Quickly investigate and fix performance, stability, and scalability issues in production.
  • Collaborate with SMEs as needed to investigate and resolve issues.
  • Scope technical work for the backlog for larger initiatives.
  • Maintain a record of system incidents; provide data-driven analysis to identify patterns and offer recommendations for preventative measures.

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Demonstrate senior-level expertise in most of the following technologies: AWS, C# .NET, ASP.NET, Web APIs, ORMs, SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, TypeScript, JavaScript, Angular/HTML/CSS, and IIS.
  • A proven history of developing production-grade - performant, scalable, and durable - applications.
  • Extensive experience at all levels of the technology stack - infrastructure, database, API, and frontend.
  • Hands-on experience managing complex, high-volume applications in a production environment.
  • Hands-on experience analyzing hardware and software logs and metrics.
  • Hands-on experience optimizing database configuration and queries.
  • Hands-on experience analyzing and optimizing web applications.
  • Working knowledge of SOA and Architectural Patterns.
  • Working knowledge of performance-tuning techniques, stability patterns, and scalability approaches.
  • A data-driven approach to problem solving and communications.
  • Ability to balance urgency with sound decision making and careful execution.
  • Ability to balance business and technical objectives when making decisions.
  • Ability to balance multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication, problem solving, and analytical skills is a must.
  • Have a positive, can-do, user-centered attitude.
