Description7am - 7:30pm/ Full Time/ 36 HoursSalary range - $16.10-$20.53We're seeking a Cardiac Monitor Tech, Sr for Emory Saint Joseph Hospital, responsible for being a capable technician who cares about the quality of their work an ensuring the safety for all patients.This individual will:

Under the direction of the registered nurse, the Monitor Tech functions as a team member supporting the ongoing assessment of patient's cardiac rhythm utilizing EKG knowledge for the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric population.

The Monitor Tech supports unit leadership and carries out the mission, vision, values, and quality commitment of the hospital and assists with planning and carrying out strategies to meet regulatory compliance, National Patient Safety Goals and HCAHPS goals.

Log in new admissions. Discharge patients in Meditech. Prepare charts for new admissions.

Meditech order entry. Answers call light and phone, using established communication etiquette. Maintain awareness of the status of patients in ICU. Faxing as requested.

Admits patient to telemetry system. Documents admission rhythm strip, sets limits, enters patient information in telemetry log book. Observes monitors continuously and assess rhythms for changes.

Notifies primary nurse/charge nurse of any changes in patients rate or rhythm immediately. Reviews all alarms promptly. Records and mounts rhythm strips on all patients per protocol, with documentation of rhythm and measurement of PR interval, QRS, posts telemetry strips on patients chart per standards.

Upon notification of IV medications administration (rate/rhythm) the monitor technician will run strips and document medication and time administered. Includes full disclosure for past shift during hand off report with oncoming shift.

Prepares Telemetry report each shift. Releases rhythm strips to nursing unit upon patients discharge or termination of telemetry.Runs and mounts strips on all cardiac or respiratory arrests. Cleans transmitter as recommended by manufacturer. Works with manager to formulate plan for professional development. Attends educational in-services as appropriat MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma/GED, preferred.

Completed basic EKG course or demonstrated proficiency in rhythm interpretation.
