Senior Systems Engineer Retail Infrastructure Enginee

I/S provides the information technology required for all Publix business units including retail stores and all office and warehouse environments. The Publix I/S mission is to maximize the value of information technology to Publix associates and customers. One of the following positions is now available in the Retail Infrastructure Engineering area of Information Systems:

• IS Server Senior Engineer
• IS Server Senior Engineer 2

• Software and hardware architecture design, installation, configuration, integration and support
• Systems and project design
• Problem determination and resolution
• Systems security and vulnerability remediation
• Project team participation, and
• New technology awareness, research and system integration

• Bachelors Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business or an analytical discipline, or equivalent experience,
• Three years' experience implementing, supporting, converting, and upgrading Windows Server and RHEL operating systems and related infrastructure software and hardware in a medium (50+) to large (500+) environment,
• two years of experience with various systems management tools to include SCCM, SCVMM, Hyper-V, out of band management, Active Directory,
• experience implementing, supporting, and migrating core VMware technologies including ESXi, VSAN and vCenter,
• proficient with PowerShell scripting,
• experience with automation and development operations,
• strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills,
• excellent attendance and punctuality record,
• excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to relate to all levels of Publix associates,
• must be flexible, agile, and able to handle stressful situations in a professional manner,
• demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision,

• continued education in various technical disciplines,
• minimum of three years of experience designing, planning, implementing, and supporting large releases,
• experience with multiple hardware vendor platforms,
• extensive experience with PowerShell scripting,
• experience implementing, supporting and migrating Windows Server operating systems to include 2016, 2019 and 2022,
• experience creating, managing, and updating server images, ISOs, clones, and templates,
• experience with Operating System Deployment using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit and SCCM,
• Experience in operational automation technologies (Ansible, Orchestrator or SCCM OS Deployments)
• good understanding of System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies,
• experience with various Microsoft system center products to include App Controller, Configuration Manager, Operations Manager, Virtual Machine Manager, etc.,
• experience working with vulnerability management tools, and remediation activities,
• develop standards, processes, and procedures to enhance engineering activities,
• anticipate and identify issues that conflict with security and compliance requirements,
• foster and maintain working relationships with customers to ensure processes are optimized to support expected customer service levels,
• strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills,
• ability to resolve complex business and technical issues by making decisions using sound business judgment,
• experience leading medium to large projects from requirements through implementation,
• experience working in a process structured environment which includes Change Management, Incident/ Problem Management and Disaster Recovery Preparedness,
• experience with compliance and regulatory security requirements (SOX, PCI),
• solid understanding of the functional and operational practices necessary to operate in a highly available, highly secure, and highly regulated environment to meet business and compliance requirements.
