AECOM is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Energy & Sustainability Engineer to join our High-Performance Buildings and Communities team. This multi-disciplinary team provides design leadership and consulting to clients striving to deliver sustainable and resilient buildings and communities. Projects range from the design of net zero buildings to the development of city-wide or campus level decarbonization plans. We’re passionate about driving the essential transformation of the built environment to deliver a more sustainable and equitable future.The Senior Energy & Sustainability Engineer can be located in our San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orange, Seattle,  Atlanta, Chicago, or Denver offices.The Senior Energy & Sustainability Engineer’s role is to apply technical expertise of building and infrastructure systems at a campus / community scale to develop practicable, pragmatic strategies to meet energy, GHG, and resilience goals. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Leading the development of community- and portfolio-level energy strategies, considering, among other things: energy conservation, building electrification, onsite energy generation and storage, district energy, microgrids, infrastructure resilience, and monitoring and control systems. Technical assessment of building/campus energy demand and potential supply strategies using a combination of modeling, proprietary software, and the development of customized analysis tools.Contribution to proposals and the management of small- to medium-sized projects and junior staffPreparing and presenting results and recommendations, in report or presentation format, to clients and design teams.The candidate will have a technical background such as mechanical, electrical, energy, civil engineering, building science, architecture, or similar. The ideal candidate will have professional experience in the building or energy sector. The candidate will need to be a team player who can work with others in a multi-disciplinary team to undertake technical analysis and produce reports under tight deadlines. The ability to develop and communicate ideas clearly will be seen as a significant strength in any potential candidate.This is a role for someone who shares our passion for decarbonization and wants to scale up and diversify their contribution to this transition.
