Oracle Database Administrator to support our Database team in our

Atlanta, GA office location. Summary: Using expert level experience, manages, develops and maintains Oracle internal and external customer production databases by analyzing department applications, programming, and operations; defines database physical structure and functional capabilities, database security, data back-up, and recovery specifications; recommends best practices and optimum access techniques; troubleshoots performance issues and recommends areas for improvement; coordinates installation requirements. Manages database upgrades to the latest version and updates and installs security patch sets.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Monitors and ensures the day-to-day administration and maintenance of Oracle customer production databases, ensuring that the databases are available, performing properly and safe.
  • Performs installations, upgrades and patching, backup and recovery, performance tuning, security, monitoring and configuration.
  • Responds to and recovers crashed databases at customer sites and minimizes downtime by recovering it as near to the crash time as possible.
  • Develops and reviews database designs to ensure table normalization's are maintained, standards are met and proper constraints are in place to ensure data integrity is not compromised.
  • Collaborates with team members and confers with managers when needed regarding problems with and capabilities of customer databases. Assists developers in the creation of data objects and migration of data in Development and QA department databases.
  • Configures Oracle RMAN backups on all production databases. Verifies that the Oracle RMAN backups are valid through periodic testing and RMAN restores.
  • Develops customer database reorganizations using PL/SQL scripts to maintain database integrity.
  • Migrates all current customer databases over to the new releases based on schedules. Monitors and implements advanced security features at customer sites to protect data against cyber hacks.
  • Conducts annual version roll over in preparation for coding of the new version cycle.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree; equivalent professional experience may be considered for substitution for the required degree on an exception basis.
  • 6 to 10 years of Oracle DBA experience
  • PL/SQL programming
  • Shell Scripting
  • Linux / Unix experience
  • Performance Tuning Experience
  • Oracle Multitenant

Certifications:
  • Oracle Certified Associate
