Applies paint and other finishes to surfaces using a variety of hand tools, such as brushes, paint rollers and sponges, as well as hand power tools, to complete work. Must utilize proper painting and finishing application procedures to assure quality of work.
Removes old finishes and prepares surfaces for painting by repairing, sanding, patching and buffing. Removes paint using scraper, chemical compounds, or blow torch.
Mixes paint and matches colors for equipment.
Works in compliance with all safety policies and procedures, including proper use of safety equipment.
Responsible to keep all tools required to perform the job available and in good working order.
Education
High School education or equivalent
Experience
2+ years of experience
Working Conditions
Frequent lifting of 25 to 50 pounds, occasional working at heights above 10 feet, ability to wear a respirator and/or hearing protection as required, ability to bend, kneel and work with arms raised for prolonged period of time
