Job Title: SRE WITH GCP (Intermediate level really. Only need a 6-7 year person)

Candidates Submitted: 0 (Hard to find because candidate MUST have 1-2 years of GCP. Anyone with only AWS will not be considered. The manager was up front that AWS does nothing for them; this team is GCP-centric and they must have some with active hands on experience with GCP since they have to hit the ground running day 1.

Location: Based in Atlanta, GA. MUST be local or able to relocate immediately by day 1. This is a hybrid model starting day 1 (2 days onsite each week)

Visa: USC/GC STRONGLY preferred. H1 will be last priority

Pay: $50/hr C2C, 1099 and $45/hr on W2 ideally since they only need a 2-4 year person. There is flex as needed, so if they’re local and good, please still send!

Job Type: 6-12 month contract with potential to extend or convert. Their intention is to try and convert after 6 months

Interview Process: 1 and done with the hiring manager and his tech lead

What You’ll Do
  • You will engage in and improve the software development lifecycle – from inception and design, through development, deployment, operation and refinement
  • You will influence and design infrastructure, architecture, standards and methods for large-scale systems
  • You will support services prior to production via infrastructure design, software platform development, load testing, capacity planning and launch reviews
  • You will maintain services during deployment and in production by measuring and monitoring key performance and service level indicators including availability, latency, and overall system health
  • You will automate system scalability and continually work to improve system resiliency, performance and efficiency
  • You will practice sustainable incident response as part of an on-call rotation and through blameless postmortems
  • You will remediate tasks within corrective action plan via sustainable, preventative, and automated measures whenever possible

Qualifications
  • BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent job experience required
  • GCP required
  • Proficiency with continuous integration and continuous delivery tooling and practices
  • Experience in languages such as Python, Ruby, Bash, Java, Go, Perl, JavaScript and/or node.js
  • System administration skills, including automation and orchestration of Linux/Windows using Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt Stack and/or containers (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)

  • You have expertise designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  • You take a system problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive
  • You have experience managing Infrastructure as code via tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
