The Data Science team's goal is to deliver extraordinary support to our brands. We are responsible for building proprietary data and analytics capabilities to help us better understand our guests and support our restaurant team members. As a Data Science Manager, you will help this endeavor by owning innovative marketing data science projects and managing a growing team of data scientists. Projects will include building and deploying real-time machine learning solutions into production across high-visibility digital marketing and customer personalization initiatives. The output of these data science solutions will directly shape business recommendations and customer strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Statistical modeling - developing models to describe the relationship between any business-relevant independent and dependent variables
- Project & team management - helping prioritize work within sprints and manage/develop team
- Data cleansing/processing - working with IT to create automated processes to ingest and cleanse data from multiple data sources and vendors
- Data QA & imputation - validating data in each step of model pipelines and imputing if necessary
- Process Improvement - identifying opportunities for process improvement and innovative solutions to business challenges
- 4 year degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Science, or Mathematics required
- Graduate degree preferred
- Required Minimum: 3 years of practical experience with data mining and analytics, database structure and ETL, predictive modeling, machine learning, cloud computing environments, and statistical programming languages;
- 1 year minimum of managing an analytics team required
- This role would have 2-4 direct reports
- Deep expertise with statistical programming languages (e.g., R, python), database querying (SQL), and machine learning
- Expertise with fundamental statistical analysis
- Prior experience with non-theoretical "messy" datasets, i.e., datasets with missing values, inconsistent formatting, etc.
- Ability to solve problems using data and clearly communicate the results
- Personal integrity, humility, an appreciation for the power of true teamwork, and a sense of humor
- Passion for the restaurant industry and desire to train in our restaurants to learn operations. A strong desire to help shape the future at Inspire Brands
- Experience with Pyspark, Azure Databricks, and/or Git
- Familiarity with employing different statistical performance measures and the benefits / tradeoffs of each
- Strong technical communicator who is comfortable troubleshooting very complex data problems in large data pipelines
