Description We are searching for a meticulous Technical Writer in the Retail industry. The role will be based in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. The Technical Writer will be tasked with creating detailed documentation, guidelines, and standard operating procedures for in-store signage. This is an ongoing part-time contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Collaborate with various departmental experts to collect information about existing standards, procedures, and processes relevant to in-store signage Analyze and research existing documentation to identify gaps and inconsistencies Develop and facilitate training on procedure and standards to ensure understanding and adherence Plan, organize, and implement work in an efficient and effective manner Determine the most logical way to present information for optimal reader comprehension Generate innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions Meet with subject-matter experts to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed Analyze information required for the development or update of policy, procedure, and form documentation Review and/or copyedit content developed by other team members Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of sign elements and the documentation requirements Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and developer guides Create tutorials to help end-users using a variety of applications Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunitiesRequirements Proficiency in using Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Adobe FrameMaker Familiarity with AP Style and Standard Operation Procedure Understanding of Brand Standards and Process Documentation Experience in the Printing/Publishing industry Knowledge of Big Box Retail and Trade Show Signage Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to break down complex technical concepts into easily understandable language Ability to work collaboratively with different teams Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or a related field is preferred Previous experience as a Technical Writer is preferred.
