Telecom Specialist for the State of GeorgiaLocation: Atlanta, GADuration: 6 weeksDept: DHS
- this is a 6wk project and these 8 contractors with travel around to all the DHS offices located in North, South & Middle GA.
- Also, their work hours will vary from day to day between 2nd & 1st shift.
- They will be paid mileage for their travel and a per-diem for their hotel allowance.
- Work with a statewide deployment team to assist with migration from Agency’s on-premise Cisco VoIP system to WebEx enterprise cloud platform.
- Test, deploy and troubleshoot telecommunications hardware including VoIP telephones, routers, gateways and other equipment.
- Execute documented test procedures to verify migration of all site main and DiD lines to the cloud system.
- Test operation of telecommunications equipment ensuring power and network connectivity
- Meet with IT project team members to provide daily progress reports and regular project updates.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
- OR Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of experience
- OR Five years of related experience OR Two years of experience at the lower-level Telecommunications Specialist 1 or position equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge of VoIP systems and IP Protocols.
- Previous experience working as a VoIP/ Telecom Technician.
- Familiarity with WAN and LAN systems
