Job Title: HIL Development Engineer/Test EngineerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a passionate and skilled HIL Development Engineer/Test Engineer to develop innovative software solutions for Hardware in the Loop (HIL) testing, including data acquisition tools, user interfaces, test automation, and data analysis. You will be responsible for specifying requirements for test bench software and modeling solutions, and creating technical documentation to support tool qualification. Develop complex applications using LabVIEW or Matlab/Simulink for closed and open loop real-time test systems.
Write and integrate code in Python or C/C for system control, data processing, and enhancing LabVIEW/Matlab applications with additional functionalities.
Specify requirements for test bench software and modeling solutions.
Create and maintain technical documentation to support tool qualification.
Utilize knowledge of aerospace/automotive communication protocols such as ARINC 429, ARINC664, CAN, and related tools for signal measurement and command through scripting.
Ensure robust and maintainable code using version control tools, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and other software development tools.
Essential Skills
5+ years of experience with Hardware in the Loop real-time systems such as National Instruments, Speedgoat, RT-Opal, or dSPACE.
Proficiency in developing applications using LabVIEW or Matlab/Simulink.
Proficiency in Python or C/C for system control and data processing.
Knowledge of aerospace/automotive communication protocols such as ARINC 429, ARINC664, and CAN.
Experience with version control tools and CI/CD pipelines.
Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Computer, or Aerospace Engineering, or a similar area of study.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Familiarity with Reflective Memory real-time data sharing.
Experience with software tools qualification for aviation purposes (DO-330).
Familiarity with requirements management tools such as DOORs, JAMA, and Windchill.
Work EnvironmentThis role will initially require heavy travel for the first 4-6 months, with up to a month at a time, to access labs in STL, Detroit, or Syracuse. The team will permanently relocate to Atlanta in early 2025, where new labs are currently being built. The work environment will involve collaboration with a diverse and experienced team of design engineers, focusing on the development of electric propulsion systems for the aerospace industry.
