Our client, a multinational professional services network, is seeking a User Experience Researcher III

Location: Remote

Position Type: Contract

Job Responsibilities:

  • Owns the delivery of User Experience research activities to inform digital products and the user experience across projects, presenting to and collaborating with stakeholders spanning geographies and time zones
  • Conducts qualitative and quantitative data collection. Captures, analyzes, and reviews insights and identifies opportunities to improve product or feature usability and effectiveness
  • Leads aspects of research efforts in new directions and applies best-practices while staying up to date on usability tools, technologies, and methodologies
  • Employs both qualitative and quantitative data collection methods including, but not limited to: workshops, 1:1 interview, 1:1 remote moderated testing, heuristic evaluation, contextual observation, surveys, card-sorting, metrics collection, persona creation, journey mapping, etc.
  • Facilitates research, analyzes results, synthesizes data, and reports on research activities in formative and summative stages of an Agile software development lifecycle
  • Identifies target audiences, segments and performs participant recruiting, creates screeners and manages participant scheduling
  • Owns the analysis of existing data across areas, cultural, and social trends, and conveys their impact on user attitudes, behavior and perceptions, using solid knowledge to draw relevant insights and reveal mental models
  • Manages information gathered from data collection exercises across methods, in exercises with increasing complexity
  • Makes significant contributions to brainstorms, critiques, and other collaborative sessions within multidisciplinary teams
  • Reviews research observations, reports, briefs, raw data, etc. and evaluates findings and recommendations
  • Provides significant input into UX Research proposals and project scoping exercises, recommending effective research approaches depending upon goals, scope, timing, and budget
  • Drives innovation efforts regarding research practices to meet team and client needs under tight timelines and competing projects or priorities

Skills and attributes for success:

  • Deep understanding of qualitative and quantitative data collection methods along with when and what method(s) to employ for optimal data collection results
  • Demonstrated competence in data gathering and analysis techniques across mixed methods
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and facilitate stakeholder and user interviews to advise project goals and outcomes
  • Successful experience performing generative UX research work in Agile software development
  • Demonstrated understanding of iterative discovery and how UX fits into the Agile SDLC

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • Experience conducting, analyzing, and reporting on qualitative and quantitative user experience research activities
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Information Science, Communications, Psychology, Sociology, Computer Science, or related field preferred
  • 3-7 years of relevant working experience
  • Significant experience performing in an User Experience Researcher role covering software products or applications

Education:

  • BA/BS in Human Computer Interaction, Social Sciences, Design, Digital Media or related discipline.
