Come and join our growing Product UX team, to support clear and concise UI and to champion user-centric content across the online service experience. As a UX Writer, you will be working closely with Product Managers, engineering, CX, and customer support teams to ensure that the user-centric content is implemented throughout the apps. We use research, usability testing and analytics data to inform design solutions and ensure that they meet the needs of domestic and international users. We feel a strong sense of ownership for the quality of the entire experience as we build products to help protect people from life’s uncertainties.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

  • Audit the online service experiences with the customer in mind and identify areas of content improvement. Provide recommendations for the right language and tone
  • Write easy-to-understand instructions that explain and guide users through various online tasks as effortlessly and frictionlessly as possible
  • Partner with designers, product managers, legal and other cross functional teams to understand complex product details, and distill insights and requirements into simple, intuitive interfaces.
  • Represent the user and advocate for empathy and clarity while balancing the negotiation of priorities and business goals
  • Provide support during UAT to validate that the correct grammar, style and tone is maintained throughout the service experiences
  • Monitor user behavior and feedback, assist in competitive research to identify areas of improvements, and make recommendations for ideal content
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking documentation work
  • Create and manage content guidelines and glossaries
  • Offer consultation for the team on content related queries
  • Collaborate with our legal team to adjust the language without compromising best customer experience
  • Understand the impact of content translations and localization on design and user experience on our international sites

YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Deeply curious, empathetic and customer obsessed mind
  • Ability to extract complex concepts and quickly turn around content flows, clear user-centric copy, and information architecture
  • Portfolio of UX-focused writing samples and style guidelines
  • High level of creative consistency and attention to detail
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills including grammar, spelling and punctuation
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously and multi-task in an agile environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple requests efficiently and execute within deadlines
  • Able to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

  • 4+ years as a UX Writer, Technical Writer, UX Designer, or Content Strategist in highly collaborative environments
  • Trained in linguistics, English, information sciences, psychology, human factors, or human-computer interaction
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred. Degree in the following areas is a plus: Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, Information Sciences, Psychology, Human Factors, and/or Computer Science
  • Experience designing in insurance, financial, or highly regulated verticals is a plus
  • Experience working in an international environment is a plus
