VMWare System Administrator with AWS and CCTV exp Atlanta, GA 12+ Months SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR Contractor shall provide a highly skilled Systems Administrator with experience supporting a large Enterprise system with knowledge of Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS) that will perform design, configuration, and implementation to support the Authority's Network communications hardware, switches, storage, email, train control, and closed-circuit television (CCTV). QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four (4) year degree in Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics. VMware Certified Professional (VCP5 or VCP6) certification.
  • Experience as a Windows/Linux System Administrator supporting a large enterprise system with knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Windows 2008/2012/2016, Linux/ UNiplexed Information and Computing System (UNIX) Operating Systems.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience with engineering and administration in virtualized environments. Needs strong relevant experience in a large virtualized environment to include virtual networking and storage management.
  • (i) Must have a strong analytical background with accompanying troubleshooting skills as well aseffective communication skills. Experience designing and engineering commercial cloud environments, architectures, and designs. Expert knowledge in storage technologies.
  • (ii) Hands-on skill in storage design, installation, and configuration for large-scale cloud
  • environments. Experience with best practices associated with migrating and configuring storage
  • across geographically distributed cloud-based architecture.
  • (iii) Administration experience in a VMware or Microsoft or on an Azure or Amazon Web Services
  • (AWS). Scripting experience w/ Microsoft PowerShell and vSphere PowerCLI.
  • (iv) Knowledge of security standards such as FedRAMP, FISMA and SRG. Data Center Virtualization
  • (DCV) Track and certified Design Expert Certification completed for that respective certification
  • track.
  • (v) Network Virtualization Track and certified Design Expert Certification completed for that
  • respective certification track.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft (MS) Office programs is necessary, including familiarity with SharePoint.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a high degree of attention to detail. Excellent troubleshooting experience. Prior experience with NetApp, Hitachi, IBM, or EMC is preferred.
  • Prior work experience in an enterprise level leveraging both on premise and cloud storage solutions is desired.
  • Prior experience with installing and maintaining servers, storage, and backupsolutions. The Systems Administrator will report to the Office of Technology Infrastructure and Production. The Systems Administrator will perform the following:
  • (i) Configure, install, and test the new servers for new applications that are scheduled to be deployed Authority-Wide. Ensure the storage is zoned correctly for all the applications requests.
  • (ii) Work with project managers on the configuration and deployment of servers and security groups to meet the needs of each project on behalf of the Authority. The System Administrator will also work business units and stakeholders (internal/external) to implement, configure, deploy, and optimize the central monitoring nucleus of the technology infrastructure for business sustainment.
  • (iii) Possess strong analytical, communication, problem solving skills on Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy Object (GPO), DHCP, Event Logs, File Server, Server Load Balancer, Storage, and solution implementation experience. The Systems Administrator should also be able to work in a fastpaced environment with minimal supervision individually and with a team. Flexibility to work in shifts for 24 hours a day x 7 days a week x 365 days per year to provide support. Hands on experience in patch management life cycle. Coordination with multiple stake holders/third party vendors for break-fix. Responsible for identification and mitigation of risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Prepare disaster recovery (DR) plan and show successful function and failover in DR exercises and outages.
  • (iv) Experience in calculating storage metrics with new technologies to increase efficiency and are responsible for the daily administration of storage facilities. The System Administrator will be responsible for capacity planning and tweaking performance for storage and backup environments.
  • (v) Handle replication of DR data to make sure that data is recovered, in case of any glitches. System Administrator will configure and administer performance and massive storage arrays while deploying and configuring Storage Area Network (SAN). They upgrade, implement, monitor policies, and procedures to ensure steady storage provisioning, protection of data, and adherence to compliance.
  • (vi) Experience resolving storage issues using Network File System (NFS), Fiber Channel over Ethernet (FCoE), and Common Internet File System (CIFS) protocols. The System Administrator also administers backup architecture using several solutions. The System Administrator should also be versed on security governance standards/policies/organizations such as payment Card Industry, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, Criminal Justice Information Services, and Georgia Criminal Information Center.
  • (vii) The Systems Administrator will properly map the storage for the Enterprise and Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) network and coordinate migrations with the business units and stakeholders of the applications implemented on both networks. The System Administrator will configure all new storage into SolarWinds for proper reporting and life cycle management. The System Administrator will produce a Visio for application mapping and sign-off by the application support personnel and stakeholder. The Visio should contain the end to end communication of the application.
