POSITION SUMMARY:

The System Engineer in the IT team is responsible for performing ongoing management of endpoint devices such as point of sales, tablets, point of sales peripherals such as pinpads, scanners, customer displays, etc. Manage software distribution, patch management, script creation for data analytics and automation, handling day to day operation, endpoints health checks and incident response, problem management, implementing new technologies and innovative solutions. The position requires strong technical skills in retail and/or hospitality systems and as well as great collaboration and interpersonal skills in cross function environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Create, Build and Implement policies and procedures, Standards used by team to ensure consistent endpoint and peripheral provisioning, uptime, incompliance with organization policies & regulatory compliance, and data protection to provide reliable, secure, highly available applications. • Responsible for the creation & management of software images/firmware for endpoints such as point of sales, servers, tablets, including testing and distribution. • Review, create build templates, change scripts, executable design documentation, reports for team to use for endpoint and peripheral migrations. • Develop and maintain automated installation processes for endpoints using deployment tools to provide consistent and predictable service.• Provide advanced technical Knowledge of group policies and scripting. • Deploys packaged software on ad-hoc or rollout basis using enterprise endpoint management tools • Create Gold image, build prototypes for pilot, create staging and configuration processes • Uses Software Distribution and Patch Management Tools to ensure critical product and security patches are deployed to all endpoint devices. • Ensures all software is packaged and tested with existing endpoint image. • Conducts packaging quality assurance and end user acceptance testing prior to deployment.• Ensures no disruption to the business during deployment/maintenance window.• Plan, implement, manage, verify, and trouble-shoot endpoints and peripherals including but not limited to Windows, Android/iPhone, and Certificates.• Create and maintain accurate repository of endpoint and peripheral IT Asset inventory, documentation and diagrams depicting the integrity of designs, implementations.• Perform and administer data management tasks such as imaging, backup, archive, recovery, and integrity verification.• Perform endpoint efficiency optimization such as applying patches, upgrades, performance monitoring, and system audit tasks.• Leadership in the automation of operations tasks related to endpoints and peripherals. • Perform account administration tasks for assigned technology.• Define KPIs on monitoring systems health status and create preventative measures and processes.• Collect data via scripting and perform in depth analysis to evaluate business impacts and prioritize problem resolutions.• Manage preventive maintenance and keep systems up-to-date on application level and operating systems through change requests, projects and release and deployment processes• Lead the team to identify trends, root cause and come up with solutions to resolve problems in a logical, creative, and structured manner.• Ability to understand complex business challenges, translate information to technical requirement and deliver solutions to meet business needs.• Ensure systems continue to function normally after deployment by performing a series of validation.• Define disaster recovery process.• Work with all internal technical teams, business units and external stakeholders like 3rd parties.• Perform testing for all fixes and enhancements, and work with the vendors, internal IT and external IT teams to apply changes into the production environment.• Understanding POS interfaces with central systems, payment middleware, gateway, processor, and acquirer.• Investigating equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operations to make recommendations• Create models or diagrams to illustrate the possible solutions and document every aspect of an application or a system as a reference for future maintenance and upgrades.• Participate in projects and enhancements that involve changes to applications which would include determination of user requirements, testing of changes, preparation of operational procedures.• Driving new technologies and innovative solutions that will help grow business.• Investigating equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operations to make recommendations• Responsible for working on projects that apply new or existing technologies and solutions to meet business needs. Works with the IT and business management teams to define overall technicaldirection.• Partners with the business to determine system needs, influencing and guiding the change process from concept to implementation.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Industry recognized certifications such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA, MCSE) certification or equivalent skills.• Minimum 5 years point of sales infrastructure engineering experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and/or Droid Systems. • Experience in a professional endpoint and peripheral support role managing Microsoft Windows, Certificates, and system administration concepts including disk and network administration.Virtualization, VMware, application packaging for .exe and .msi files, Windows Installer technologies. • Minimum 5 years’ experience working with application packaging, scripting and deployment of software.• Strong background in building, testing, updating, and deploying Windows and/ Droid operating systems.in a 24x7 professional, business environment using Kaseya and Intune.• Advanced understanding of application packaging, software distribution and patch management using tenable for vulnerabilities.• Proven experience with building strategies and processes for endpoints.• Good written and verbal communication skills required.• Networking: knowledge of Ethernet, IP, configuring TCP/IP settings for endpoints and peripherals, basic network troubleshooting.• Knowledge of supporting Microsoft tools such as DNS, networking, and storage.• Broad and strong knowledge of Store Systems hardware and software including POS, peripherals, Pinpad, media player, digital signage, PC and network printer, etc.• Experience in creating gold image, ghosting, scripting, group policy, staging and configuration processes. • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and scripting e.g., Python Scripting, PowerShell Scripting, etc.• Able to deal with ambiguity – can function without having the total picture.• Knowledge of retail and hospitality industry best practices with prior experience in Store Operations business processes and systems.• Ability to work with various levels of store staff/management.• Multitasking skills, able to prioritize, and juggle various projects and tasks concurrently.• Excellent verbal and written communications skills working with all levels of the organization and with external vendors• Able to work independently and in a team environment• Align the business’s goals, needs and objectives to the solutions• Communicate issues and status in a clear, timely manner• Support the business process by acting as an expert of the company's services and products, including usage, architecture, functionality, and deployment• Strong technical experience in testing, design, and support• Good problem-solving, as well as written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills• Having a can-do attitude
