We are currently seeking talented individuals for our Engineering Intern position! Here is some of what you’ll do… POSITION SUMMARY:The Engineering Intern provides support to Project Managers and Project Administrators for the sales and delivery process of new engines. The Engineering Intern prepares requirement traceability matrices, test reports, and Operations and Maintenance Manuals for the EPG, Industrial, and Marine projects. The Engineering Intern assists in the performance of engineering analysis and design of custom packaged reciprocating engine systems using Caterpillar and other manufacturer’s application and installation guidelines. The Engineering Intern must be able to multi-task and have good communication and leadership skills to provide clear directions and tasks to both outer/inter departments. ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Maintains job related documents in an organized manner (PC skills required) and in accordance with the procedures established and as needed for each specific project under the direction of the Project Administrator.

Assists administrative personnel in the preparation of contracts, purchase orders, and engineering submittals and operating manuals, per contract requirements.

Prepare information for submittal, engineering review, as-built documentation and final operation and maintenance manuals in support of specific projects using electronic files.

Participates in job walks, coordination meetings, and site visits to support the overall sales process and equipment startup.

Works with the Service Shop in the testing and startup of equipment as required by the specifications.

Estimates and tracks work schedule with emphasis on completing assigned projects in a timely and professional manner.

Identifies resources needed to maintain projects schedules and commitments.

Maintains sales and project management programs and update databases.

Prepares detailed records of all project and engineering documents.

Maintains daily activity summary for supervisors and works with the individual project managers in completing assignments, as directed.

Performs all other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager.

QualificationsEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Must have a valid Drivers License with a good driving record.

Must have PC skills.

Enrollment in an accredited 4-year Engineering Program with a minimum of 2 years of course study preferred.

Must have ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Must have the ability to communicate technical information as related to environmental permitting, electrical performance, and mechanical system installation and operation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Walking: Moves about on foot, often through uneven terrain and up and down stairs.

Handling: Seizes, helps, or works with hands.

Lifting: Raises or lowers miscellaneous paperwork.

Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.

Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.

Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.

Vision: Reads computer and paperwork.

Climbing: In and out of equipment.

Talking: Communicates by phone and in person.

Sitting: Sits at desk for extended periods.

ENVIRONMENTAL:

Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.

Temp/Weather: Works in an office environment, with occasional shop requirements.

Exposure: Subject to foul odors, fumes, and harsh substances.
