Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Human Resources (HR) Assistant in Kapolei, Hawaii. In this role, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the HR department, handling clerical tasks, and aiding in the organization's customer service operations. You will work closely with veterans and will be involved in organizing files, but you will not be involved in making authoritative decisions or advising on any outcomes. Preference will be given to applicants currently residing in Hawaii due to the nature of the job requirements. If interested in this role, please call us at 808-531-0800.Responsibilities: Provide administrative support to the HR team Handle clerical tasks such as filing, generating reports and presentations, setting up for meetings, and reordering supplies Provide customer service, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing documents connected to the Veterans Administration Organize files, keeping records updated and ensuring the efficient retrieval of information Assist in the recruitment and hiring process, which may include creating job descriptions, scheduling interviews, and maintaining candidate databases Participate in organizing company events and careers fairs Address employee queries regarding office management issues (e.g. stationery, Hardware, travel arrangements) Liaise with external vendors to ensure office supplies are maintained Use organizational skills to create efficient filing systems and keep track of supplies and inventory Maintain a positive, helpful attitude, contributing to team efforts and maintaining good relationships with coworkers.Requirements Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Human Resources role or similar Exceptional organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Experience with organizing files and maintaining records Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels Knowledge of and experience with Veterans Administration procedures and policies Proficiency in using HR software and Microsoft Office Suite Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Knowledge of HR laws and regulations is a plus.
