Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items following established recipes and standards.
Assist with menu planning and food presentation, ensuring dishes are visually appealing and of high quality.
Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene throughout all stages of food handling.
Ensure proper portioning, plating, and garnishing of dishes before service.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure orders are delivered promptly during busy periods.
Support catering events and special functions as required.
Manage food inventory levels and communicate supply needs to the management team.
Adhere to all restaurant policies regarding food handling, safety, and cleanliness.
Experience
Previous experience in a restaurant or culinary setting is preferred, especially in fine dining or catering environments.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and operation of kitchen equipment.
Experience with menu planning and preparing meals for various dietary needs is a plus.
Proficiency in knife skills and food presentation techniques.
Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations in the food industry.
Ability to cook to order in a timely manner.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a kitchen team.
Additional Requirements
Ability to lift 50 lbs. independently and 75 lbs. with a team lift.
Flexible scheduling availability.
Prior line cook experience.
Enjoys working as part of a team and communicates well.
