RESPONSIBILITIESI. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs clinical diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and other procedures associated with the production of MRI images. Provides patient care during procedures.II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Essential: standing, sitting, walking, stooping/bending, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, lifting/carrying usual weight of 1 pound up to 30 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds; horizontal lift/carry up to 50 pounds, and repetitive arm and wrist movement consistent with computer/mouse usage. Occasional: kneeling, squatting, twisting body, reaching above, at, and below shoulder, repetitive arm/hand motions.III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions. Subjected to noise from MRI machine. Exposure to working with magnetic field (NO pacemakers, neurostimulators, etc.) Minimal exposure to Cyrogens, Nitrogen, and Helium, used as a coolant for the MRI machine. Must be able to adjust schedule for “on-call” coverage involving, but not limited to, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE: Current certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T.). If not certified, certification must be obtained within one (1) year of entrance into the position. Current BLS/HCP certification.B. EXPERIENCE: One (1) year as a registered technologist in a medical imaging field employing cross sectional imaging techniques. Prior recent MRI technologist experience preferred.
