Seeking a responsible, detailed and motivated individual that will assist in office management and tax preparation process. On the job training will be provided.
Responsibilities
Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and respond to inquiries.
Greet and assist clients and visitors.
Collect information from clients, data entry, record keeping and computer operation. Schedule and coordinate appointments.
Maintain and update filing systems (electronic and paper).
Handle incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries.
Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, and other documents.
Enter, update, and maintain data in databases or spreadsheets.
Maintain office supplies inventory and place orders when needed.
Operate office equipment (printers, copiers, fax machines, scanners).
Ensure office areas are clean, organized, and stocked.
Draft and send professional emails, memos, and announcements.
Maintain calendars and schedule reminders for deadlines.
Help plan office events or team activities.
Play supportive and assisting roles in tax preparation procedures of various types of tax returns and also amended returns.
Establish business contacts with clients and provide excellent customer service by following up in a timely manner.
Ensure assignments meet the firm’s service quality standards.
Identify and communicate engagement matters to a supervisor.
Become familiar with the firm’s practices and policies.
Complete whatever tasks assigned to you within budgeted time and meet deadlines.
Desired Credentials & Experience
Bachelor of Science in Accounting/ Associated Degree in Accounting or relevant field of study is preferred.
0-3 years of tax experience in public accounting.
Desired Knowledge & Skills
Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel & Adobe PDF.
Experience with QuickBooks is preferrable.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a team environment and work well under pressure.
Ability to multi-task, while maintaining consistency and accuracy.
Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to successfully interact with staff as well as clients.
Must exhibit a high degree of professionalism.
