To look after the security, safety and well-being of all guests and colleagues making sure they cause no harm to themselves and others due to unsafe conditions or unsafe acts.Primarily responsible for ensuring the safety of guests, employees, property and hotel assets.Initiate and follow-up all investigations of crimes committed against property and persons.Assist sick and injured guests and employees, ensuring documentation and disposition of reportsInitiate investigations, write incident and accident reports, monitor investigations to their timely conclusion and ensure appropriate follow-up with guests, visitors and employees, documenting all contactsAssist supervisor in checking alarm systems, safety and fire equipment systems and closely monitoring security of building doors, service areas and delivery areasBe well versed in hotel fire & life safety/emergency proceduresMaintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all timesConsistently offer professional, friendly and engaging servicePatrol Hotel groundsBe alert for fire hazards, unsafe work practices and unsafe conditions and take appropriate action in addressing.Be able to act according to all Emergency Response PlansPerform Safe and Lock Out assistMaintain good public relations with guestsReport for duty shift starting timeBe present at all daily briefings and de-briefingsKnow the position and name of every Security and Safety Officer on shiftMaintain follow up action to ensure adherence to schedules and work standardsBe alert for any unusual occurrences and take appropriate actionMake detailed and accurate reports of all occurrences/incidents during your shift.Fill in all incident/accident/end of shift reports without fail after every shiftAttend to all other relevant paperwork as neededWhen reporting for or finishing duty, Security and Safety Officers will notify the Security and Safety Supervisor/Director.Security and Safety Officers will not discuss/ divulge department details/ information to any other colleagues/outsider/ media failing which defaulter’s services will be subject to Progressive Corrective Action up to and including dismissal.Security and Safety Officers will be required to use common sense and make judicious decisions. The basic aim being to diffuse the situation as quickly as possible. They will be polite, diplomatic and professional in handling situations, yet firm in upholding the Fairmont’s policies and procedures.Other duties as assignedDispatch Responsibilities:Monitors Fire Panel and dispatches Emergency Response team when activated.Receives emergency and non emergency calls for service from employees and guest with respect to safety, security and hotel operations.Determines appropriate response in accordance with established procedures and assessment of the situation.Dispatches Security and Safety Officers in response to calls for service.Maintains accurate records including, but not limited to, camera monitoring, shift activity log, software programs, etc.Record all calls and radio messages in MS Shift and on dispatch logControl and document the issuance of keys and radiosControl entry and exit of the resort service entrance gatesMonitors the CCTV camerasLogging in and out Visitors of the propertyReceives calls for Lost and found and records them in MS ShiftReceives calls and complaints regarding service and assistance and refers them to the appropriate department.Pass-on all information to oncoming Dispatch OfficerMonitors status of weather, public safety, Civil Defense & HPD Alerts.Requests back-up or follow-up assistance from the Hawaii County Police Department, Hawaii County Fire Department, and other agencies as necessary.Other duties as assigned
