The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.Salary Range$98,800.00 - $163,000.00Target Openings1What Is the Opportunity?Under limited supervision, the Senior Technology Engineer collaborates with business partners and technology owners in the prioritization of disaster recovery activities. Is aware of business and technology strategies that affect their domain and are responsible to assess and communicate impacts of changes to the environment. Must be able to bring together a diverse stakeholder group, drive consensus and create a shared understanding between the customer community and the technology teams. The Senior Technology Engineer is responsible for/involved in all aspects of the Travelers Business Resiliency and Disaster Recovery Enterprise programs. May include update of application entries in Archer, evaluation of systems, participation in disaster recovery testing, documentation and follow through to closure of issues; training responding to concerns and communicating solutions. The Senior Technology Engineer possesses in-depth knowledge of a particular business capability, product and/or system domain. Utilizing knowledge of the business and the specific application(s), anticipates and proactively identifies system opportunities to support business and enterprise needs. May specialize in a particular technology or skill. The Senior Technology Engineer provides direction, coaching and mentoring to less experienced team members.What Will You Do?

Responsible for ensuring compliance with Enterprise Disaster Recovery timelines.

Participates in Disaster Resiliency testing.

Guide and lead other individuals in Disaster Recovery testing.

Provide support during Disaster Recovery and Business Resiliency testing.

Work collaboratively with our Business Partners to ensure appropriate prioritization of applications and processes.

Seek opportunities to expand application and technical knowledge.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced employees.

Assist in communicating disaster recovery requirements across value streams.

Develops and maintains documentation for disaster recovery activities.

Provides training and support for Archer updates.

Provide support to value streams for disaster recovery validations and certifications. Proactively reach out to ensure compliance with standards.

Partner with Enterprise disaster recovery teams in disaster recovery testing. This will include reviewing the applications selected by the Enterprise, notifying the application managers and owners, providing guidance on access to the test environment, represent Claim on the DR calls and complete follow through post event.

Provide reporting and support for the Value Streams for disaster recovery.

Understand and provide support for Cloud based application resiliency. Work closely with the Enterprise, Value Streams, and Architecture.

Participate in Enterprise Business Resiliency meetings and activities in support of Claim.

Participate in Business Resiliency and Cyber Resiliency activities, including support for our business partners in understanding application dependencies.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Three years of experience supporting business technology systems required.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge

Bachelors degree in Business, MIS, or other related field preferred.

Three years of experience supporting business technology systems preferred.

Job Specific Technical Skills & Competencies

Experience with Disaster Recovery planning and testing.

Experience with Mainframe development preferred.

Experience with Distributed development.

Experience with Business Resiliency activities including Disaster Recovery approaches and testing.

Experience with code management tools such as GitHub.

Experience with Active Directory.

Experience with Cloud Services, AWS is preferred.

Knowledge of multiple database platforms: MongoDB, Snowflake, SQL Server preferred.

Knowledge of legacy platforms such as DB2, IMS, and Teradata is preferred.

Knowledge of analytics dashboards and tools a plus.

Strong communication skills and motivation to work in a matrixed and agile team structure to achieve results in a fast-paced environment
