Payroll Specialist

Description Jenny Bour with Robert Half is working with a well-established company that is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team! The primary function of this Payroll Specialist role is to ensure the efficient operation of payroll functions, in compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations. This Payroll Specialist role involves handling payroll for multiple entities, maintaining accurate employee records, and ensuring timely reporting. This exciting opportunity is a permanent position in the Lewiston, NY area.Responsibilities:

Process weekly payroll for all entities, including setting up new employees and accurately entering hours with associated cost codes

Handle all aspects of payroll-related accounts payable functions, ensuring timely payments

Maintain accurate employee I-9 information

Submit payroll taxes using the online submission system

Handle all standard and non-standard reporting and correspondence with the Departments of Labor and the IRS

Maintain all payroll files, ensuring accurate and timely filing of all payroll-related information

Provide Human Resources and Accounts Receivable departments with hard or scanned copies of timesheets weekly

Prepare all spreadsheets for year-end reporting and annual W2 wage statements

Act as primary point of contact and information resource for annual workers’ compensation audits.

Requirements

2-3+ years of payroll processing experience

Proficient in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in accounting, finance, or a related field is a plus.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong communication skills to effectively interact with employees and management.
