Description We are seeking an Accounting Specialist based in Addison, Illinois. The role involves working in the construction industry, processing and managing financial data, and utilizing various accounting software systems. This job offers a long term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: Utilize accounting software systems to manage and monitor customer accounts. Process and maintain Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) with accuracy. Carry out auditing tasks as part of maintaining financial integrity. Conduct collections, ensuring all payments and debts are managed effectively. Manage and organize filing systems for easy access to financial records. Prepare certified payroll entry as part of regular tasks. Use the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for managing business processes. Handle customer inquiries, providing comprehensive and timely responses. Transition to a Project Assistant role when required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability. Ensure all accounting functions comply with industry standards and regulations. Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role Proficiency in accounting software systems Experience with ADP - Financial Services is preferred Familiarity with Ceridian, Concur, and ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems Comprehensive understanding of accounting functions Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Knowledge of auditing procedures Experience with billing functions Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred Excellent communication and organizational skills Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Must have the ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
