Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are in search of an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team situated in Belleville, Illinois. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity, where the individual will be primarily engaged in managing invoices and handling customer service calls. The industry of focus is Accounting, and the successful candidate will be expected to utilize their skills in Account Coding, Accounting Software Systems, Accounting Functions, and Accounts Payable (AP).Responsibilities: Efficiently process invoices and manage accounts payable Execute account coding for proper invoice categorization Handle customer service calls and resolve inquiries promptly Utilize various accounting software systems for efficient workflow Monitor and manage month-end closing duties Maintain accurate records of all accounting functions Take necessary actions on customer accounts based on monitoring results. Requirements Proficient in Account Coding techniques and procedures Familiarity with Accounting Software Systems is essential Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive Accounting Functions Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) processes is required Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred Proven track record of maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) is a plus Must possess high level of integrity and dependability Proven ability to analyze data and resolve discrepancies.
