Job Description
Recreational Therapist (CTRS) - internally we titles this position "Events Coordinator"You will utilize a wide range ofinterventions and techniques to improve the physical, cognitive, and leisure needs of our "guests". You will assist guests to develop skills, knowledge, and behaviors for daily living (ASLs) and community involvement. You will work with our guest and their family to incorporate specific interests into the event programming to achieve optimal physical rehab outcomes that transfer to their real life situation at home.
- You will be planning, developing, implementing and evaluating the event / Activities programing of this center and supervising a team to ensure the needs of our guests are met.
- 100% of our "guests" (patients) go home or are discharged to a lower level of care. You will be intertwined with our Physical Therapy team to ensure functional goals are met, so they can safely transition home.
- Our Activities/Events department goes well beyond bingo. Weare looking for creative & engaging approaches that enhance our therapeutic & functional gains.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate:- Recreational Therapist (CTRS) is ideal
- Previous experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) orsubacute rehab setting as an Activity / Activities Director.
- Vivacious personality - you are the person that brightens up a room when you walk in; the consummate host/hostess and the one that goes out of your way to help others.
- Completed the 36 hour Activities Director certification course for IL is ideal, but not required if you have the CTRS.
