Swoon is seeking a Business Analyst focused on Artificial Intelligence for our leading client! This is a 6+ month contract with benefits (medical/dental/vision insurance) and likely extension. This position will split time between our Innovation Center in Romeoville, IL and our headquarters in Chicago, IL. We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst with hands-on experience to partner with our technical and business teams to design, implement, and deploy technically sound Drive-Thru solutions as part of Drive Thru Product Engineering team. This role will specifically focus on the Enhanced Vehicle Detection (EVD) solution and exploration of potential future computer vision use cases, working with a cross-functional team spanning technologies and product functional areas. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the needs of the business from the business and technical perspective, translating that understanding when refining requirements and defining solutions for the Enhanced Vehicle Detection (EVD) solution.
  • Lead discovery (spike), requirements gathering, and refinement agile ceremonies. Lead and participate in project meetings to ensure understanding of requirements, timing, and resource requirements
  • Identify integration, cross-team alignment, and improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in other agile ceremonies and cross-functional program sessions to ensure understanding of requirements, timing, and resource requirements.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of the key business processes and systems and identify integration, alignment, and improvement opportunities.
  • Effectively analyze and prioritize high impact solution improvement opportunities in partnership with EVD customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain productive partnerships across technical and business teams to align on cross-product opportunities, prioritization, and requirements.
  • Partner with EVD Product Engineering Manager to author and create supporting requirements, technical objectives, and solution approaches for EVD features.
  • Partner with EVD Product Engineering Manager to author and decompose features into Epics and stories, including granular details for acceptance criteria.
  • Support EVD development team day to day by providing functional clarifications and answering any questions related to acceptance criteria.
  • Perform analysis, design, test plan creation, build and execution of test scenarios/scripts, as well as participate in validation and testing activities.
  • Author acceptance criteria for each story so it is easily transferrable to story validation (and ultimately folded into automated regression tests). Design and execute UAT for each release.
  • Assist with product support issues when necessary. Provide business process and technical direction to the support team when needed. Assist with data analysis and cross-functional RCA activities when needed. Partner closely with the Support / SRE team on cross-team collaboration, training and knowledgebase documentation opportunities.
  • Work with onsite and remote development teams, coordinating with both internal and third-party vendor development teams.
  • Assist in troubleshooting in-store canary deployments and operational tests, with focus on system integration and data integrity, providing input to triage activities and subsequent issue prioritization.
  • Build and execute experiments to validate, optimize, and prioritize features; design tests to validate technology solutions in support of business use cases and provide input to business cases.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of technology experience writing technical product requirements
  • 3+ years as a business analyst/business technical analyst or equivalent role
  • Working knowledge of Agile Methodology and experience driving technical requirements ceremonies and processes
  • A deep understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Technical integration and data-driven (metrics/telemetry) decisioning experience
  • General understanding of XML, JSON, Python, and API service layers.
  • Experience with customer-facing technology systems
  • Retail or Hospitality technology experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Proficient in process flow and decision tree diagramming
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum management tools, i.e. JIRA, Confluence
  • Proven ability to understand, configure, and dissect complex technical solutions
  • A passion for innovation and leveraging new technology to solve complex business and technical problems
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as demonstrated ability to prioritize, problem solve and build productive working relationships across functional and technical areas
  • Curious, detail-oriented, and a self-starter with a proven track record of "getting things done."
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI), deep learning, computer vision a plus
  • Experience with AWS, cloud applications, edge computing a plus
  • Experience with hardware, i.e. small form factor computers and cameras, a plus
  • Experience with JIRA Align a plus
