Assembly

Description:Candidates will be working on computers (mostly point of sale computers). They will be responsible for opening the computers up using basic hand tools. Once into the computer they will be soldering and repairing the different components of the computers. Candidates will need to be able to keep up with the pace of the plant. Their promise to the customers is that they get the product back to the customer within 72 hours. Candidates, when finished, will be responsible for testing the computer to make sure it is complete. Once they verify they move it down the line and the material handler will pack and move the product to the warehouse and the assemblers will be on to the next computer.Skills:Electrical Assembly, Electronic Assembly, PCB assembly, soldering, SMT Soldering, Component, Troubleshoot, Repair, Fix, Computer, POSAdditional Skills & Qualifications:The Assembly Technician is responsible for performing quality repairs on various types of computers, POS (Point-Of-Sale) equipment, printers, and hand-held wireless terminals while maintaining a efficiency rating of 85% or greater. The Repair Technician is also required to document and assist in the creation of related repair procedures that will be used within the repair department. Most of the day they will be assisting the repair techs with the basic assembly responsibilities that they have to help them get caught up.Generic Requirements:3 years related experience as an electrical assemblerAbility to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondences, and memos.Past experience with POS (Point-of-Sale) repair is preferredAbility to test laser barcode equipment such as Symbol, Intermec, and HoneywellExperience Level:Entry LevelAbout Aerotek:We know that a company's success starts with its employees.
