Portfolio Strategy and Analytics group within this team is responsible for ensuring consistency in approach across TAs, driving adherence to Portfolio prioritization objectives, cross- TA prioritization and development of visualization to support senior Governance meetings. This is an Individual Contributor position reporting into Dir II, Portfolio Strategy and Analytics. This role is responsible for interacting with functional stakeholders, linking across various functional inputs, - assembling inputs to inform productivity analysis, conducting scenario-based analysis and developing high quality outputs.Responsibilities:
Leads cross- TA portfolio analysis of highest strategic importance
Support key outputs (e.g., Plan Book, Financial LRP process)
Partner with TA- aligned Portfolio Insights team members, PPM TA-Heads, Commercial Forecasting, Finance Sr. Dir and Strategic Resourcing team members to identify linkages and assemble key inputs
Has responsibility for all projects in primary area of responsibility.
Engages effectively with functional stakeholders (e.g., Finance, PPM) to drive appropriate linkages and evaluation critically engaging and constructively questioning assumptions/ inputs
Ensures consistency in approaches and principles across TAs while still allowing for TA-specific nuance as needed and incorporates situation dependent nuances clearly in analysis and communication of results
In collaboration with Dir II maps out potential portfolio scenarios and conducts scenario-based analysis to inform trade-offs
Produces outputs at a portfolio level with clear scenarios and trade-offs to support Sr. Leadership decision making on portfolio investments
Present key findings and insights to senior leadership as needed
Collaborate with manager in taking input from cross-functional partners and leadership to drive continuous improvement in Cross-TA insight gathering and prioritization process
Conduct ad-hoc short-term analysis or strategic projects at leadership request
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in scientific or business field and MBA. PhD in scientific field preferred
7-10 years of experience with multi-faceted, broad based understanding of Pharma R&D business processes, investment stage gating and commercial processes; fewer years can be considered if candidate has advanced degrees (MBA, PhD)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated experience in working in fast paced setting and proven track record of delivering high quality and insightful analysis
Effective communication skills with proven ability to communicate analytical outputs to different audiences in a tailored way both in written and verbal communications
Strong presence in meetings with willingness to navigate different functional perspectives and push for “enterprise thinking”
Prior experience in Management Consulting and track record of experience in R&D Strategy, Portfolio prioritization projects a plus
Strong organizational and project management skills commensurate with conducting multiple sophisticated analysis for cross-TA support across several assets
