We are seeking an experienced candidate to lead our Integration Engineering teams to drive deeper Product integrations into our customers workflows and systems. All or the products in the Clinical effectiveness portfolio are built to solve problems in everyday situations, but ensuring we integrate them in a way that works for our clients is critical to their success, whether through batch automation, to real-time API's or HL7 message brokers to deep EMR integrations. You'll lead a group of software engineers building SMART on FHIR apps on our Clinical Decision Support Platform through to managing our operational integration platform tools such a batch or HL7 message brokers and are accountable for driving the direction of what tools we deploy to ensure a seamless experience for our clients.

Essential Duties and responsibilities
  • Strategically map integration needs to data integration methods available through EHRs (HL7, IHE, FHIR, APIs)
  • Serve as the liaison between healthcare organizations and our vendor partners, building strong relationships to ensure we deliver on expectations
  • Serve as an integration engineering leader, managing both the delivery of integration software solutions as well as ensuring the operational needs of our integration platform are met
  • Work closely with customers and product leads to refine requirements and develop solutions and address integration issues.
  • Lead the interface development and strategy including:
    • Developing partner integration strategy for population health infrastructure
    • Implement interfaces between partner technologies and 3rd party vendor
    • Research and gather functional requirements and specifications for interfaces
    • Evaluate and discover best practices and new interfacing technologies
    • Create integration standards as part of a larger integration platform
    • Create a roadmap of new tools to make integration easier; build tools on top of our existing integration toolset
  • Responsible for the end-to-end process of developing and testing assigned integration development and methodologies for clinical data exchange.
  • Responsible for identifying the necessary data inputs for the solution as well as analyzing and ensuring the data outputs of these solutions are clinically and analytically accurate, logical with actionable information that meets business needs.
  • Participates in creation of internal training and end user documentation related to rules and content in conjunction with solution.
  • Prioritize and rapidly troubleshoot issues to ensure maximum uptime and optimal performance for customers in our production environment.
Experience:
  • 8+ years Healthcare Information Technology Experience
  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree in computer Science or interfaces, statistics, public health, data science or a related field.
  • Deep knowledge of existing HL7, CCD, CCDA standards and the evolving Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standard
  • Broad technical understanding of leading EMR platforms is critical
  • Epic/Cerner certifications are a plus.
  • Proficiency in SQL, XML and programming languages is essential
  • Experience in working with message brokers such as Infor Cloverleaf, Mirth
  • Experience working with healthcare claims, pharmacy data, and electronic health record (EHR) data
  • Experience working with healthcare claims, electronic health records, pharmacy data, or other data sets involving HIPAA and high compliance standards
  • Advanced knowledge of HL7 transactions necessary for clinical data integration
  • Demonstrated professional software coding background including standard programming languages and source code management systems
  • Demonstrated ability to apply foundational data analytics knowledge to real world issues
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet project deadlines; adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to work independently and make logical business decisions given general guidance
  • Ability to consolidate ideas and collaborate with cross-functional working groups
