ASSOCIATE GENERAL COUNSEL, NORTH AMERICALocation: Remote, must be US-based. New York City or Chicago strongly preferred.Reference ID: REFID963445About this jobNielsenIQ seeks a talented, business-oriented lawyer to join our legal team as Associate General Counsel. The person will primarily focus on drafting and negotiation of client and vendor agreements and other commercial contracts (including master service agreements, statements of work, etc.) relating to data and information licensing and professional service agreements, as well as providing general legal support and counsel for NielsenIQ’s consumer intelligence businesses.ResponsibilitiesDraft, review, negotiate and close commercial contracts, including master services agreements, statements of work, licenses, RFP responses and supporting documents, utilizing existing templates as well as drafting new agreements when required.Provide rapid, practical, business-oriented legal/commercial contract advice to other team members and directly to business clients.Confidence and experience in working work collaboratively across multiple functions (Finance, Security, IT) in complex commercial contracting matters.   Ability to develop creative, proactive, and practical solutions to mitigate legal risks supporting the business.Support business in all legal matters that arise occasionally, including policy creation and enforcement, dispute resolution, and litigation support.Qualifications7+ years of business law experience, including in-house legal experience (experience in data licensing, information services or market research industry strongly preferred)Experience negotiating commercial contracts or other experience demonstrating ability to handle commercial and legal negotiations requiredFamiliarity with market research / information services, including data licensing, consulting, information technology services, data storage and data security, and advertising/marketing business and contracts valued.Ability to draft, review, negotiate and close commercial agreements with minimal support from senior staff.Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including ability to work effectively within a globally distributed team and a fast-paced business environment.Demonstrated ability to think and decide quickly, and to communicate legal issues and solutions clearly and concisely to lawyers and non-lawyers alike.Excellent written and oral communication skills, including a clear and concise drafting style.Project management aptitude and experience to develop creative, proactive, and practical solutions to mitigate legal risks supporting the business.Exceptional risk identification and mitigation skills; ability to problem-solve and think strategically in ambiguous situations.Ability to distill complex legal concepts and issues in a manner to make them understandable to business partners and non-legal personnel. Our BenefitsFlexible working environmentHealth insuranceParental leaveLife assurance
