Find your future with us.The Boeing Global Services (BGS) Tactical Aircraft (TACAIR) Spares Engineering Team is seeking a highly-motivated Associate-Level Structural Design Engineer to work in a challenging and dynamic environment within BGS, Defense Spares Engineering located in Hazelwood, MO.The successful candidate will be a part of a multi-disciplined engineering team focused on providing TACAIR spares engineering support to BGS Defense Programs from the proposal phase through manufacturing execution. Type of support includes part configuration identification, design changes, and disposition to supplier related issues.The role requires coordination with various BDS and BGS engineering and supply chain teams within the TACAIR umbrella, which include F/A-18, F-15, T-45, and AV8-B, to resolve engineering issues and to assist suppliers in understanding Boeing engineering requirements. The candidate will also work to develop plans to solve long term spares related issues including alternative manufacturing methods (i.e. additive manufacturing), provide design support and input on various spares projects, and assist in Model Based Definition projects. The candidate must be a self-starter with strong communication skills.Position Responsibilities:- Engineering reach back to the prime organization, mechanical, structural, manufacturing engineering and systems engineering.
- Develop recommendations for supplier related issues and coordinate with Supplier Management.
- Implement design changes on spares configurations and new manufacturing processing.
- Develop and implement continuous improvements plans to provide more efficiencies in spares design and fabrication that provide value to Boeing and the customer.
- Develop and implement plans to improve supplier coordination to ensure compliance with the requirements.
- Assists in Model Based Definition activities, converting 2D drawings to 3D models.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must have a Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree.
- 2+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
- 1+ years' experience using the following Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools: Teamcenter & Unigraphics.
- Experience working with or supporting military aircraft programs.
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects and programs.
- Experience working in a cross functional environment.
