Reporting to the Director of the US BCM program, the BCM Relationship Manager will work directly with CIBC US Region business units to guide development of actionable and sustainable recovery strategies that ensure alignment with regulatory expectations and corporate guidelines. A key aspect of this role is understanding organizational priorities and the potential impact of failures in internal and external dependencies, including IT infrastructure and supplier relationships, on service delivery.At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Business Impact Assessments - Conduct in-depth reviews with business units to identify critical business functions, critical business services and related dependencies (e.g. technology, 3rd party, resources). As a result of the analysis, identify potential business interruption risks, including operational, financial and regulatory and work with the business units to create strategies to mitigate that risk.
Business Continuity Planning – Guide business units in the development of effective and sustainable business continuity plans that mitigate business interruption risk.
Business Continuity Testing – Guide business units in the execution and documentation of required BCM program testing and formal after-action reports. This includes testing of the mass notification system, alternate strategies, call trees and the design and execution of tabletop scenarios.
Due Diligence – Evaluate business impact analysis, business continuity plans, and business continuity focused testing for the US Region to ensure compliance with all CIBC BCM Standards and Guidelines.
Compliance Monitoring- Ensure business continuity management activities align with regulatory requirements, industry standards and internal policies
Relationship Building - Liaise with CIBC business units to develop a strong relationship, making sure to set clear expectations
Reporting- Provide periodic reporting on business interruption risk exposures, including recommendations to reduce or eliminate potential business interruptions
Continuous Improvement - Monitor business continuity performance and risk over time, including business unit remediation activities
Who you are
You’re a certified BCM professional .
Knowledge of Business Continuity- 10+ years of business continuity management experience, including understanding of risk management principles
Regulatory Awareness- Understanding of compliance requirements related to business interruption risks
Communication skills- Ability to clearly articulate risks and recommendations to stakeholders
You can demonstrate experience in CIBC internal/external regulatory risk policies, procedures and controls. Developed research and analysis skills sufficient to identify potential risk issues and trends.
