Job Description

The

BHS Patient Account Representative reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The BHS Patient Account Representative coordinates process of registering patients, verifying insurance information, verifying benefits,charge posting, and resolving patient inquiries, and account resolution. Excellent communication with patients, patient family members and, staff, physicians, and insurance companies required. Must manage multiple priorities and be highly problem solving daily.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Two plus years of billing, customer service, and cash posting experience in a patient accounting department
  • Thorough understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, HMO's, PPOs, and private insurance companies
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • ICD-9 and CPT knowledge
  • Keyboard skills of 35-40 wpm
  • High School Graduate or equivalent
