THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:

The Brand Copy Manager will develop and lead the evolution of the Ulta Beauty brand voice: defining, directing and executing the copy strategy that brings our brand to life. You'll continually evolve our style guide and lead proof of concept copy for high-level campaigns and initiatives down to always-on content and turn-key assets: in short, elevating all the ways we speak to our guest in every touchpoint. You have strong omnichannel experience, understanding the nuances of messaging across store, print, email, digital, social, radio and video. You're wildly creative but intensely strategic, adept at tailoring your writing based on different audiences and points across the customer journey-a natural storyteller that thinks big and small.

The Brand Copy Manager will lead the internal team of copywriters and freelancers, partnering closely with the Senior Manager of Editorial Content to elevate editorial and copy authority across the enterprise. You'll be a key cross-functional partner to marketing, merchandising, e-comm, UX and Guest Services, as well as a consultant for corporate relations, DEI and other enterprise teams. Finally, you'll also onboard and oversee copy from external partners, vendors and agencies.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee, articulate and ensure consistency of the Ulta Beauty brand voice expressed across store, print, digital, email, social, video
  • Manage multiple writers and freelancers, and consult/collaborate with other communications teams across the enterprise
  • Evaluate and implement standards and processes to improve workflows and create new best practices to keep up with the speed of content
  • Pitch, present and articulate work to cross-functional partners, including at the executive and officer level
  • Partner with creative leadership to develop 360 campaigns and content
  • Onboard or re-train agencies and partners to the Ulta Beauty brand voice

THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:
  • BA in Journalism, English, Creative Writring or Advertising
  • 6-8 years copywriting experience with a background in digital, social media, and/or shopper marketing
  • Experience leading a team of copywriters in an editorial or lead capacity
  • Strong interest and understanding of cultural and marketing linguistics, plus advertising and content best practices
  • Strong understanding of retail, beauty and cultural issues
  • A left-of-center thinker, bringing fresh approaches and ideas
  • Exceptional proofreading and editing skills with an eye for detail and a mind for big picture thinking
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Purpose-driven and solutions-oriented individual, open to daily collaboration and receptive to feedback
The pay range for this position is $84,000 to $142,800 annual base salary with theopportunity to earn additional compensation pursuant with the Company's bonus plan. Exactpay will be based on position, experience level and geographic location.
