The Business Intelligence analyst lead Strategic and Tactical analytic projects focus on resolving business problems to unlock service growth potentials and customer value. Turning data into insights, customer value and growth is essential to Caterpillar industries and the Cat Digital organization.As Business Intelligence analyst, you will join a diverse team which focuses on discovering the future of aftermarket through the analytics of field data, thus ensuring that the best decisions are made by our internal partners to achieve our Service growth goals.Comfortable working in challenging environments with a contagious passion for leveraging data analytics to inform decisions, you will play a key role in sales development project as well as part availability initiatives by communicating understandings and representing our team.By joining the Insights team, your contributions will support futures Service sales supporting in all industries served by Caterpillar. You will be an integral part of our team of talented Insight’s analysts covering all Caterpillar industries working alongside of other data scientists and analysts in Cat Digital organization. Independent contributor to multi-person analytics teams
Demonstrates knowledge and ability to handle basic issues independently
Incumbents in this position will move to be a project leader on complex and highly visible projects
Support the Business Analyst lead to achieve the annual Vertical target (in $)
Typically, decisions will impact routine, low risk issues that may affect the project team, suppliers or internal customers
Locating and obtaining data from various internal and external sources
Rapidly iterations of new ideas and debug issues
Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.
Basic qualifications:
4-year degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience
Fields of study include computer science, business, mathematics, economics, statistics, engineering or in a related field
Experience with data structures using SQL
2-3 years of professional experience in data analysis
Top candidates will also have:
Data driven skills with the ability to organize, analyze and disseminate significant amount of information
Knowledge of R, SQL, Python, DevOps, Excel, Alteryx, Snowflake is a plus
Ability to work with technical & non-technical stakeholders with the ability to take & deliver
Good logical reasoning skills
Self-starter and driven while working well in team environment
Create innovative solutions to solve business problems
Attention to detail in order to spot inaccuracies in coding or data
