WHAT DOES A CREATIVE DIRECTOR, COPY DO? The Creative Director (CD), COPY oversees the creative efforts and creative team members on multiple brands and indications. The CD is a leader, mentor, and guide who sets the bar for big-idea development, memorable communication and craft. The CD instructs, refines, and pushes all creative team members to higher standards and achievements. The CD has a specific background in either art or copy but is well-versed in both and able to lead the creation of brand campaigns development, as well as MCM assets. Additionally, the CD has the depth of experience, knowledge, and understanding of marketing/advertising principles necessary to ensure that the work achieves full potential, adheres to brand standards, remains on schedule and overall, meets/exceeds client expectations. The CD is responsible, in conjunction with account and planning partners, for the overall wellness of the business they oversee, working to maximize team billability, profitability, and opportunities for organic growth. The CD is a trusted client partner, confidently presenting and selling work from a holistic and strategic perspective. Launch experience is preferred.  Has demonstrated experience in creating award-winning, business-building pharma campaigns Possesses a deep understanding of how to create effective HCP communications Partners with account and planning on creative brief development and helps guide and clarify creative ask and direction prior to project kickoff, offering ideas and solutions to maximize creative potential within budget  Acts as client’s lead creative guide and trusted partner, ensuring all necessary background materials are gathered for a project, working with account to ensure team is set up for success  Promotes strong partnership with internal and external teams (including clients, vendors, and partner agencies)  Serves as a highly organized, lead strategic partner and go-to for account, planning, production, and subject matter expert (SME) teams  Has a clear understanding of medical, regulatory, legal (MRL) parameters and ensure creative work that pushes boundaries is appropriately substantiated  Mastery at storytelling, confidently presents and defends the work to our client partners  Proficient in adaptability and leading team in a new direction, initiating change  Acts as a checkpoint, responsible for creative excellence at a high strategic level  Understands the importance of utilization and works hard to ensure full team hits their targets  Mastery of accessibility best practices and a commitment to apply these to our work  Shows care and consideration for individuals on the team, proactively addressing challenges and working to ensure that team members are set up for success  Demonstrated understanding of each team member’s individual strengths (superpowers) and how to leverage these talents to deliver the best work  Exhibits strong emotional intelligence, helps create a positive work environment, and builds strong relationships within creative and across other departments  Acts as a client partner, is strategically focused, and creates strong agency-client relationships  Helps lead pitches and new business efforts, able to inspire team, set clear directives, and help push work to the highest level  Builds strong interdepartmental relationships, fostering seamless communication on both day-to-day projects and across the portfolio of business
