OverviewOur client is looking for a Data Analyst to support a major program with numerous projects focused on distribution of electricity in the Chicago area. The team comprises of 12 members. The Data Analyst will be responsible for:
  • Developing, maintaining, and tracking data related to the program work.
  • Identifying new data sources and integrating the data into project processes to improve tracking and validation of project metrics.
  • Creating data visualizations to make improvements to the efficiency of the program.
  • Reporting project metrics to management.
  • Working with Project Managers on requirement gathering efforts to create new reports and dashboards.
  • Execution of program-based grid infrastructure upgrades.
  • Managing the scope, schedule, and budget of large volume of projects.
  • Voltage Optimization program, installation and upgrades of distribution and substation equipment
  • Provide business function support to create and improve program tracking, development of metrics, and reporting.
  • Would interface with the project managers to understand their responsibilities and work with various stakeholders to improve the tracking of work progress, identify data sources, and put into place automation of tracking and reporting.
  • Includes development and analysis of cost metrics
  • Follow ups with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accuracy and timeliness of reporting.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 3+ years of data analysis experience.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, etc.)
  • Advanced use of MS Excel and databases, in order to bring together spreadsheets and other data from several sources and automate updates and reporting.
  • Experience creating dashboards and data visualizations within a business intelligence tool such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
  • Experience using data to help inform decisions.
  • Experience tracking data relevant to project / program work.
  • Ability to see gaps and opportunities within the current organization’s processes and utilize their skill sets to make the improvements needed.
  • Attention to detail and should be able to work as part of the team.

Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Utility industry experience.
