Position: Data Engineer

Job Description:

Responsibilities:
  • Provides high-level database development assistance in creating specific applications for businesses
  • Provides general support on information technology to design, develop, execute, and maintain the database application and warehouse systems
  • Works with business units to understand and translate complicated business requirements and processes
  • Works harmoniously in a cross-functional team comprising managers, supervisors, business analysts, systems personnel, network staff, and other developers in ensuring the delivery of software solutions as planned, within set budget, and timely
  • Performs the role of the principal designer responsible for complex systems and their subsystems employing deep knowledge of current technology and tools, as well as relevant systems that are already existing
  • May participate in multiple projects simultaneously as a senior development team member
  • Ensures research and innovation at all levels of the SDLC process
  • Provides excellent customer service by responding to and assisting with help desk calls to resolving issues, including system outages
  • Functions as a technical architect / Subject Matter Expert (SME) on enterprise related software systems
  • Assists with database administrative duties as well as some project management tasks.
  • Perform other duties as required

Experience:
  • Bachelors in Computer Science or related field or degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience with Strong SQL Server Database Design, Development and Administration (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS)
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure technology stack for enterprise Datawarehouse (T-SQL, SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, ADLS, Synapse, Azure SQL, SHIR and Data warehouse experience)
  • Strong experience in designing schemas and data structures
  • Experience administering, monitoring, and troubleshooting numerous SQL Server instances, Azure data warehouse components as well as reporting services
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently at all levels of the organization and elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources
  • Demonstrated ability in identifying and troubleshooting data issues
  • Strategic Thinker: Able to maintain good balance of strategic vision and tactical execution.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, complex priorities within demanding timeframes and overall project management skills
  • Demonstrated customer relations skills and proven track record of trust, transparency, respect and success
  • Demonstrated quick time-to-competency in new subject matter areas
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products

Preferred Experience:
  • Data Integration experience: HL7 (or similar), APIs, ETL tools
  • Active Directory and Windows Administration experience
  • Experience working in the health care industry
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps
