In this role as a Dealer / Customer Representative, you will report to the Facility Manager and will be primarily responsible for overseeing sales and marketing-oriented coordination of tours, meetings, and events that involve focused facilities, product groups, customers, dealers, and business partners. As a member of the Marketing, Sales, and Product Support team, you will need to have a growth mindset, promote continuous improvement, and help build a defect-free culture at Decatur, IL. Responsible for providing detailed and customized tour agendas that often include multiple Caterpillar facilities and includes a wide range of Caterpillar staff (product groups, subject matter experts, senior leaders, executives, etc.)

Work closely with counterpart with several visitor services leads in the Caterpillar facilities.

Develop (or have) a good understanding of the Caterpillar customer / dealer business model, and a general understanding of the mining business and organization.

Build strong relationships with facility management, product groups, industry groups and go-to-market teams.

Accountable for the safety of all visitors, which includes enforcing Caterpillar’s safety regulations and OSHA compliance.

Maintain, protect and secure Caterpillar assets, including VIP vans, audio equipment, personal protective equipment and related materials.

Requires a flexible schedule and the ability to host various customer/dealer events and requires the ability to drive a 15-passenger customer VIP van.

Provide general marketing support to the team (promotional item management, major events support, industry/community events and content development).

What you will have:

Three to five years of relevant communications, marketing or project management experience.

Excellent communications, human relations and presentation skills are necessary to develop relationships with internal and external contacts.

Must be a self-starter with leadership ability, project management experience, and business knowledge.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills are essential to this position.

Above average with Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Skype, etc.) and a valid driver’s license is required.

Top Candidates will also have:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferably in communications & marketing

General understanding of Caterpillar Inc., customer/dealers and familiarity with Caterpillar products and services.
