Devops Engineer Period09/07/2021 to 12/31/2021 will extendPay w2Position Accountability/Scope · This position reports into the Cloud Services organization in BTS. · Works with Container Engineers and Application owners to document, containerize, and implement applications to BTS Container/Kubernetes environments. · Works with Java App Server Engineers to modernize java applications to run on container platforms. · This position is a technical contact representing the infrastructure hosting / cloud area to partner with all other Abbott IT and business organizations and key external service providers. · Accountable for awareness of Docker and Kubernetes distributed computing concepts that Abbott is increasingly placing on itsJOB DESCRIPTION Cloud Automation Engineer infrastructure to host applications, to optimize resources and modernize applications. · Accountable for java application architecture and conversion into microservices to run as containers. · Contributes to the operation and profitability of every division through modernizing and optimizing client’s Enterprise and Business critical global applications and platforms. Minimum Experience/Training Required · Bachelor’s Degree preferred in a technology discipline · 5+ years of overall IT experience · 3+ years Java Application Server experience (WebSphere, Tomcat, Jboss) · 3+ years Java applications development experience · 3+ years Container/Kubernetes Experience · Experience building new container apps, and transforming/deploying legacy applications into Containers · Experience with Terraform · Experience with Git and CI/CD tools (GitLab preferred) Core Job ResponsibilitiesDevOps and Agile Delivery and SLC methodologies adjusted for containerservice delivery and integration with client DevOps organizations.Uses Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. Terraform and Packer) andtechniques to deliver re-usable services for container and java serverenvironments.Implements Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines forthe deployment of application and infrastructure stacks.Provides self-service capabilities to application and container teams.Automate container operations tasks including backups and patching.Drives and aligns innovative enterprise-wide container solutions acrossAbbott IT, business management, enterprise vendors, and internal support
