- Administer and evolve our on-prem Kubernetes clusters, including all Kubernetes master node components, etc cluster, and solutions for container networking and container storage
- Work on a platform for monitoring, logging, and orchestration of docker applications running on Kubernetes
- Design and implement zero-downtime to accomplish running high-available clusters supporting highly-available services
- Design and implement disaster recovery (DR) between different regional data-centers
- Follow community trends and changes in the landscape or the technologies used, advocating for and implementing work to stay modern and using the best options available
- Define and evolve DevOps best practice by working within teams and educating the other stakeholder teams. These best practices should support traceability & auditability of change
- Drive cross-functional co-located teams in design, development and implementation of enterprise scalable features related to enabling higher developer productivity, environment monitoring and self-healing, and facilitate autonomous delivery teams
- Present technical solutions, capabilities, considerations and features in business terms
- Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience working in a similar engineering role
- Technical hands-on background in Linux operating systems, cloud native technologies, and distributed streaming platforms a must
- Strong knowledge of components of Kubernetes architecture. Certification as Certified Kubernetes Administrator a plus but not required
- Strong knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g. Docker)
- Strong knowledge of best-practices for enabling development, deployment, monitoring, and high-availability of containerized cloud-native applications
- Awareness of general technologies used within CNCF landscape
- Strong understand of Kubernetes networking (Calico, Weave)
- Knowledge of kubectl, community projects such as helm, istio, linkerd, prometheus, NGINX ingress-controller, and similar software and utilities used to manage deployments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences, including executives and non-technical leaders
- Understanding of agile practices and ability to enforce them in variable team size settings
- Highly self-motivated with strong analytical problem-solving skills
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn and improve on existing approaches
