- Supporting Structures and Dynamics test for engine components.
- Willingness to learn FMEA and i-Model Champion functions, FEA structural simulation.
- Candidate must have a 4-year engineering degree and experience in any of the following areas: structural dynamics/vibration, NVH testing and/or structural simulation with a good/comprehensive understanding of instrumentation technology, data acquisition technology, vibration and fatigue theory.
- Knowledge of internal combustion engines and a familiarity with dynamics/vibration development/testing/analysis is required.
- Strong initiative, good communication skills and an understanding of customer needs and product application are a must, as well as excellent analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills. Must have the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5-7 years engineering experience required (combination of internship experience and hands on work experience).
- Advanced engineering degree concentrating in dynamics/vibrations is desirable
- Performing Field Tests and lab tests by following standard test procedures, travel time 25%.
- Collect test data using data acquisition systems like eDAQ, LMS …
- Perform modal testing for engine system and components.
- Setting up lab or field engine test instrumentation.
- Perform analysis such as vibration severity assessment, weld/bolted joint analysis, parent material fatigue analysis by following Caterpillar standard test procedures.
- Communicate test results and recommended fix to design team
- MUST be a combination of real-world experience; engine validation and test validation; day-to-day- will be in a lab, interacting with engineers, understating simulation, working with hardware for engine tests, collecting data, hands on testing, working with customer; skills- vibration data system experience, data collecting & processing;
