ETL Developer

Lisle, IL Looking for local candidates, however, would entertain candidates that are non-local.

Team is currently working Hybrid (few days in the office and few days from home)

6-month contract (could be extended and/or go full time but no guarantees)

The biggest skillset is organization – by far. Ability to execute and make minor modifications to JCL and SAS programs is good… but teachable. This is a great “getting back to work after years being away” type of job. Nice to have skills would include SQL (any type).

OverviewAs a Lead Software Engineer providing IT Support for the Sales, Parts and Service areas, this role will utilize both technical and soft skills. Being successful in the position will require gaining knowledge of several complex systems, primarily our pricing applications, as well as the various batch jobs, ETL processes, stored procedures, SSIS Packages and other data migration methods that form that core of the applications supported by the team. This role will also help create advanced self-preservation and self-healing techniques within our suite of applications, all in an effort to provide superior quality of service and uptime for our internal business partners, and customers.The primary focus is a third party application (Syncron), closely coupled with workflow automation via Control-M.

  • Must be a self-starter and work independently
  • Experience working in a fast paced and demanding work environment
  • Experience with vendor relationship management
  • Functional knowledge of High Availability systems.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and supporting Java applications
  • Knowledge of Job Scheduling and Workflow Automation tools such as Control-M.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Occasional after hours or weekend support may be required
  • MS Office Suite of Products
  • Integration with external 3rd party vendors experience is a plus.
  • Manage daily support and maintenance of Price Optimization & Management Software, and conduct long-term improvement operations to ensure compatibility with evolving mission requirements

Required Technical Skills:
  • Extraordinary Organizational and Communication skills.
  • SAS Programming (Minor modifications and execute)
  • JCL (Minor modifications and execute)
  • Functional knowledge of SQL queries
  • Using at least one of the following databases: DB2, Oracle, SQL Server
  • Control-M or similar job scheduler software (user experience)
  • Power BI or Tableau a plus
  • Hadoop a plus

Additional Requirements:
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of software engineer experience
  • At least 1 year of lead experience
