The Data, Privacy, and Enterprise Analytics office is responsible for protecting and governing Data across SVB in compliance with all global and local laws/ regulations. Our mission is to transform the company to be a data-driven powerhouse where data & insights power every critical decision to improve Customer & Employee Experience, drive Profitable Revenue Growth, and Optimize Overall Costs.

The Director for Agile Portfolio Management and Programs for the SVB Data, Privacy, and Enterprise Analytics Office (DP&EA) will be responsible for ensuring that intended business outcomes to support SVB's transformation towards a Data driven organization are achieved.

Key responsibilities include definition of value-based portfolio prioritization, enterprise stakeholder communication, progress tracking, managing portfolio budget and funding, and Executive reporting. The Director for Agile Portfolio Management and Programs is responsible for setting the DP&EA portfolio objectives aligning results to meet the enterprise OKRs and enterprise initiatives. These are measured quarterly and refreshed annually. S/he works with their sub-Portfolio owners to detail the initiatives that will be needed to accomplish these portfolio objectives.

The ideal candidate must have experience managing and delivering complex programs across the entire data lifecycle in both Agile and SDLC.

Essential Functions
  • Defines value-based prioritization and sets quarterly portfolio objectives
  • Ensures a 1-year horizon of planned and prioritized initiatives is maintained for their portfolio
  • Effectively and consistently communicate portfolio goals and provide relevant updates to all partners including Finance, Marketing, Product, Customer Journeys & Analytics/Sales, and Executives
  • Evaluate and manage portfolio dependencies across the enterprise, identify potential risks, issues, and mitigation actions to prevent any delays
  • Acquire a deep understanding of our data pipeline, from ingestion, integration to consumption, as well as SVB's data management and data governance tools
  • Work in Agile methodology and have expertise in tools such as Jira to drive delivery
  • Identify, evaluate, and procure potential internal and external solutions to improve our data products
  • Oversees financial governance for their portfolio: drive funding requests and forecasting, track budget consumption and resources allocation
  • Engage proactively with key partners, steering committees, executive sponsors and leaders, enterprise, and finance partners to review and address anticipated changes to portfolio details
  • Leads a team of 2-3 program analysts

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience working on data projects and project/program management
  • Strong understanding of project and portfolio management fields, governance processes and executive reporting
  • Experience with agile transformations and solid understanding of Agile methodology
  • Relevant experience with Data platform, BI & Analytics systems
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Results-driven with extraordinary attention to detail, remarkable follow-through, and an ability to focus on customer experience
  • Project management experience including working cross-functionally and partnering with internal and external partners.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, adaptable to rapidly changing requirements, crucial, and willing to be responsible for the hard calls
  • Ability to facilitate productive discussions, build consensus within the team and with cross-functional partners
  • Ability to optimally interact and influence across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work with Analysts and partners to facilitate drawing meaningful insights and translate them into high-level strategy and useful tasks
