Position Title:Industry-ITJob Title-Director of Engineering Architecture & SolutionsLocation-Remote (Chicago preferred)Duration-6+ months Experience Ø Qualifications: · 6+ years of Experience in retail and e-commerce domains.· Experience an exposure in retail furniture domain is a big plus· 8+ years' experience in architecting, developing and maintaining the applications· Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering or related field· 2+ years of Experience in implementing and migrating the applications to cloud platforms like AWS / Microsoft· 8+ years of HTML, CSS and JavaScript· 5+ years of Experience with CD/CI tools like Jenkins, Maven, etc…· Hands-on with various databases like Oracle, MySql, Mongo, etc.· Proven mentoring and analytical skills· Self-motivated, independent, and detail-oriented· Certification in related technologies a huge plus· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both business stakeholders and the technical team members· Thrive in a team environment and work well with others· Ability to deliver projects on time and within budget and excellent troubleshooting skills Skills: Ø Java – 15+ years of Java/J2EE experience – strong knowledge of Java’s latest releases (Java 11 & above).· Managing/upgrading the Java version in the application.· Best practices, Design patterns, code review, and security need to be implemented Ø Spring Framework – Top-level understanding of Spring Framework, 10+ years of experience – how it works and how to customize it according to application-specific needs.· Bring in recommendations on how to leverage various Spring modules to make robust & stable applications, and also to minimize development effort. Ø Web service – 10+ years of hands-on experience in Webservice integration – REST & SOAP – both as a service provider and service consumer· Develop architectural standards, workflows, and interface specification documents that complement the architectural vision while enforcing best practices· Understand the current enterprise architectural vision, conceptualize/experiment with alternative approaches and create models to communicate the strategic direction Ø Database – Excellent database knowledge – both RDMS and NoSQL. Real-life experience with designing fault-tolerant, high performant, and high availability database systems using AWS Cloud infrastructure Ø Quality – Implement processes and tools to improve quality, adhere to industry standards, security standard Ø Monitoring and troubleshooting – lead the team with advanced monitoring and troubleshooting and performance tuning techniques Ø Analytics – Good knowledge of analytics is very crucial to be successful in this role.Pulling system reports, analyzing, and coming up with action plans are a plusTechnically manage, guide and mentor internal associates & consultants. Job Description · The Director of Engineering Architecture & Solutions is responsible for the technical oversight and guidance of the online eCommerce platform and setting technical direction through application roadmaps and solution architecture work.· Responsible for technically leading eCommerce on any/all enterprise-wide technical discussion in regards to scoping, solutioning, and implementation.· This role will act as the technical expert reporting to the vice-president of the company in the eCommerce domain and the "go-to " person interacting with business and eCommerce development teams. Responsibilities: · Application architecture – strong architectural knowledge. 8+ years of hands-on experience with application architecture. Needs to have solid experience of designing very high volume, high thruput external customer-facing applications· AWS architecture – excellent hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure.· Proven implementation experience in establishing high-performing eCommerce infrastructure.· Needs to understand security, scalability, availability, and optimization. AWS Architect certification is a plus.· Business domain – Proficient in working with the business team.· Excellent analytical skills to translate business requirements into technical design, documenting technical tasks into the JIRA system, and assigning to appropriate team members. · Partner with management teams, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Developers to prepare the business, technology roadmaps and translate the business requirements into high-quality technical solutions · End to end delivery – driving the complete development process - from requirement gathering, development, implementation to post-production monitoring · Closely interact with 3rd parties and guide internal team on implementing all online integration and data transfers/flows · Extensively experienced in developing and maintaining the applications with Java/J2ee technologies - JDK, JDBC, JSP, Servlets, Hibernate, XML, JSON, Webservice, REST, SOAP, Javascript, HTML, Spring Boot, Spring Core, Spring Data, Spring Security, Spring MVC, Spring Batch etc. · Prepare system scope, specifications, high level and detailed requirements, use cases, high and low-level design documents, flowcharts, and sequence diagrams· Define and control online securities including PCI/PII compliance and audits. PCI/SOX – Participating in PCI/SOX audit is a plus· Strong hands-on experience with implementing modern single-page applications using React framework.· Understand how Frontend & Backends communicate, building an infrastructure for the same· Build process – Building top class application build process – separating out components effectively so make build process faster, and also make them deployment friendly and runtime performance optimized. Expert in Jenkins, AWS Code pipeline, Webpack build.
